Yosuke's Cavalry Attack is also hilarious, for obvious reasons. Rise's first encounter with Marie. It begins with her sizing up Marie and then demanding to know who she is.
Marie then says that Margaret previously told her about Rise, describing her as a girl she can't handle. As a bonus, moments later after the entire Investigation Team gathers, Kanji mispronounces the word "subtle" as "sub-buttle", which leads to a joke about his butt, and Rise gets squicked out while Yukiko gets into another one of her laughing fits, then everyone else, including Marie, joins in laughing.
And their heated "rivalry" continues during the ski trip after you defeat Marie's evil side and she finally wakes up and kicks Teddie off of her. The first thing she does one things have cooled down is hug Yu, much to Rise's irritation: You think that's long enough for a moving hug?
Shouldn't you let go now? I'm tired of moving! Enough with getting up! Good thing there's someone even I can hug! In fact, Marie's above line is a parody of Rise's commercial from the beginning. No wonder Rise is pissed. It's an awesome day when a girl gives chocolate to someone she holds dear. Oh, and I already reserved Senpai. And most of all, Marie gets the last laugh when you make it to the extended epilogue and you romanced her during the game: On Rise's first day at school, she's pondering whether she should pull the fire alarm or not before hastily telling herself she mustn't because she's an idol.
Even funnier, you can find her there on every school day when she's available for a social link. Right until one of them recognized him as one of Kanji's "crew" and they fled in fear. Yosuke questions just what Kanji did to them.
On Jan 20, the day Nanako and Ryotaro finally get home from the hospital has a scene where Teddie goes through a cliche "Welcome Home" speech followed by asking for a kiss. You have the option to "Give him all you got. Right after that he asks you what a "glomp" is. You have the option to tell him or show him.
If you choose to show him, Dojima walks in and asks "What the hell are you two doing? Just the Valentines day. Specifically, Marie's and Nanako's part where Marie's chocolate is alive and Nanako's is just plain horrible to eat. Worse, you don't get to say no against Nanako leaving you passed out. Could also be seen as a Take That! To add to Nanako's, after eating the chocolate and passing out, it appears you are inflicted with the Fear status. It wasn't just bad; it terrified you.
So, to sum up, Nanako baked something that, when experienced, was so inexplicably horrifying that you passed out.
Nanako created an Eldritch Abomination! Hanging out with the guys in Junes is cool provided you don't have any girlfriends, You Bastard. Yosuke thinks he's going to score with a girl, only to be asked about a nearby trash can and Teddie calling Kanji as Yosuke's brother.
Kanji Tatsumi: A Look at Sexuality and Gender in Persona 4
Family that's lonely together is bro-nly together. Yosuke laments that he didn't even get to eat chocolates: I know I don't have anything waiting for me But I can't give up my hope. It's my only weapon against the Valentine's Monster.
I know you got chocolate from Chie-chan and some other girls! And you ate it all anyway! It was soooo good! That was bargain-price chocolate from Junes! I put the sale stickers on them myself![HD] [PS Vita] Persona 4 Golden - Naoto Shirogane Social Link [Fortune]
The concert at Junes in Golden. Specifically Teddie crowd-surfing and being tossed in the air by the crowd and the three boys trying to imitate Teddie, fail at it because the crowd dodges with Kanji face planting standing up. Most of the scenes leading up to the concert are pretty funny too, but a particular favorite has to be Yukiko's Non Sequitur moment. After a half a day's worth of practice without any progress, everyone's just about ready to give up, until a few encouraging words from Rise helps them shake off the discouragement.
This thing's not broken after all!! Take her to the movies and watch one that doesn't have an overt affect on her. Yes, thank you for alerting us to the cultural norms Yosuke But there is the tricky fact of what that event flag and romantic dialogue might be left over from.
Audio files still present on the disc seem to heavily imply that Yosuke was indeed a romance option for the Protagonist, and that this option was cut quite late in the game — late enough that there is English audio of the cut lines as well as the original Japanese. Ironic, in a game all about facing truths no one wishes to discuss. This is a game we really want to walk the walk. But saying all that means being held to a standard of representing those oppressed groups in a respectful way: If it wants to set itself up as a rebel, then it really had be prepared to walk the walk in grappling with tough issues and unpleasant truths, rather than putting on an affectation of edginess for the sake of more sales.
And if it can pull off that quality of writing, matched to the series trademark polished gameplay and addictively frustrating difficulty, I think we might have a true modern classic on our hands. They just have to put the work in first. It did not fix it. They're both laughing cheerily, and the dream will make MC feel close to Yosuke and gain points toward their Slink.
While doing homework, the MC can start thinking about Yosuke and get flustered. In regards to Yu x Yosuke, Persona 4: Dancing All Night is not shy about this trope at all. Various characters make reference to their special and intense relationship.

During fever time, Nanako states that their relationship is like a "bromance. In the main story, Yu is always concerned about Yosuke even for trivial things and is generally considerate towards him.
Yosuke had been planned as a romantic option early in the game's development. Obviously, this didn't make it into the finished version, but they left all the subtext in.
Persona 4 / Ho Yay - TV Tropes
Fellow AthletesDaisuke and Kou. Daisuke's complete disinterest in women is rather suspicious Sure, it's explained later he broke up with some girl but still, even then the specific break-up conversation manages to be riddled with implications that Daisuke is gay. Whatever, girls are a pain in the ass! Tally it up with Kanji's. Kou's not much better. In his Level 1 Social Link, he gets stuck putting away the basketballs the team was using, and will snarkily comment "While they go to their parties, I get to stay here and play with balls.
I looove them balls. Then there's his "What are we to you?
Taking the Celibate Hero options, such as stating a lack of interest in the Miss Yasogami beauty pageant and telling Yosuke that you have no romantic interest in either Chie or Yukiko, usually leads one of the party members to make a not-so-subtle crack about the Protagonist's sexuality.
Not helped by how they start referring to each other in a First-Name Basis. Teddie is totally gay for you. Talk to him before you leave Inaba and you'll get a conversation in which Teddie offers to take off his outfit for you. The suggestion is quickly declined by Yosuke. If you don't max out Yosuke's Social Link, you get this conversation instead. It is not any less homoerotic. In Golden, a bunch of new scenes are added including a Ship Tease the Dojimas barge in just as the two are inches from each other The closeup is capped off by "Muscle Blues" Shadow Kanji 's theme.
